Which Scorpio Races Cover Do You Prefer?

Even though there is a horse on both the hardcover and paperback editions of Maggie Steifvater's "Scorpio Races", these covers are very different.

I can't help but notice that the hardcover version (on the left) is more "adult" looking.  Is this a new trend to increase the market for young adult novels with crossover appeal by making the hardcover version look like an adult book?
