Paranormal Writing Prompts : Writing Tips for Teen Paranormal Stories

Do you want to write a paranormal novel but don't know where to begin?  Why not start by writing a paranormal short story?  Here are some opening lines to inspire you:

1.  "I knew it!" squealed Nadia.  "I knew vampires existed!"
2.  My brother drowned three years ago, but there he stood by the playground, looking longingly at the swings I used to push him on.
3. This can't be happening, I thought as my wings unfurled.
4.  My mother always said I'd wind up dead in a ditch somewhere.  Well I guess she's half right.
5.  No one ever said being a succubus would be easy.
6.  My boyfriend is a werewolf, or at least he claims to be.  Either way, I'm breaking up with him on the next full moon.
7.  I always wanted to look in the mirror and see the face of anyone but me, and now I'd gotten my wish.
8.  It all started the night I found a vampire-hunting kit under my sister's bed.

Now try coming up with some opening lines of your own (feel free to share them).
